Description Zaheer Abbas Merali 2004-04-27 13:39:59 UTC
The monoscope plugin when used looks appalling and gives invorrect output. Look
at gstreamer 0.6 for how it is meant to look.

I tried to fix it by changing its caps to only accept mono audio...which is what
it is meant to take but it doesnt help. Also, for some reason the video picture
it produces is 16x16 and not a reasonable size.

monoscope can only do 256x128 output.
The caps rewrite didn't take this into account.

That's fixed now.
Comment 2 Zaheer Abbas Merali 2004-04-28 10:39:33 UTC
It still gives incorrect output.

Compare:

gst-launch-0.6 osssrc ! monoscope ! colorspace ! xvideosink

and

gst-launch-0.8 osssrc ! monoscope ! ffmpegcolorspace ! ximagesink

Try normal talking into the microphone, u will see the difference in a big way.
I tried to change caps of the changed monoscope to only accept mono, and it
still is wrong.
