Description Allison Karlitskaya (desrt) 2004-04-10 04:34:06 UTC
when running:
gst-launch filesrc=file.ogg ! spider ! osssink

i get a lot of hiss on my iBook G4. the file is still very clearly audiable but
sounds like it's being played on a noisy cassette deck.

the problem does not occuring when playing the same file with ogg123.
the problem does not occur on my PC.
the problem appears not to occur for mp3 files (when compared to mpg123)

Reporter, Are you using ALSA with OSS emulation?
Comment 2 Allison Karlitskaya (desrt) 2004-04-13 17:23:06 UTC
I'm using native OSS, kernel 2.6 using the dmasound_pmac (powermac) driver from
benh's kernel series.
Comment 3 David Schleef 2004-07-04 22:17:24 UTC
Is this still a problem? I've never seen this on my macs.
