Description Sergej Kotliar 2004-03-28 12:50:44 UTC
What the Spatial Nautilus really needs (in my opinion) is more use of bookmarks.
I suggest that bookmarks are placed in these places:
computer:/// OR in start-here:/// - that way, one can always start in one of
those places and in one click end up wherever you want.

"Places" in the menu on the spatial windows, or perhaps put in the bookmarks
menu like it was.

Cause people sometimes use stuff outside their /home/username directory, and
want quick access to other places.

I agree. I need to add bookmarks in "places" or in another menu ! I always use
this feature in rox
Comment 2 Vaidotas Zemlys 2004-04-06 06:01:15 UTC
I agree too. Now the bookmarks are only accesible in browse mode. Since there is
a ctlr-l option in spatial nautilus, ideologicaly there must be bookmarks too.
It would be very cool, to have epiphany like behaviour in ctrl-l dialog. You
type bookmark name press enter and Nautilus opens bookmarked catalog.

It would also be great to have unified bookmark system, i.e. filechooser
bookmarks accesible in nautilus and vice versa.

Situation with spatial nautilus is pretty bad for most users - simple or
advanced. it seems, nautilus 2.6 has most usability problems than ever (except
computer: location), bookmarks problems are only result, but where is roots of
these usability problems in nautilus ?
I think main problem is, that nautilus developers doesn't hear users oppinion.

Marking this bug as a duplicate of #155928 which has been created for a global
