Description Frederic Parrenin 2004-03-02 14:53:44 UTC
Right clik on a combo box should select it to allow to delete it.
The only way to select a combo box is to click on the outline.
But this method does not work if the combo box has a too small height.

I will attach a file with such a combo box.
Try to select and delete this combo box...

I don't see any combo box in that file.

Anyway, right-clicking ought to bring up a context menu with several
entries, one of them being "delete".

OK, my file was empty. It is in fact another bug of gnumeric: it does
not save combo boxes in its own format !
I will post another file produced by excel.
Try to delete the combo box that it in this file.
The only way that I have seen is to delete the cell to which the combo
box is attached. (but it is not easy to know to which cell it is
attached !)

Right-click does not work on a combo box, because it brings up a menu
for the text entry widget, intended for the text inside the widget:
- cut
- copy
- paste
- delete
- select all
- input methods
- insert unicode control character

My mistake: it is in fact possible the bring up the context menu to
delete the combo box. But you have to right-click exactly at the
border of it.
What is counter-intuitive is that:
- if you left-click on the same area (the border), you don't select
the widget
- the pointer does not change when you are on the border. Changing it
to an arrow would help understand you can select it when you are on
this area.

I've adjusted things so that right click always brings up the context menu.
Although that still needs to be implene
