Description bugzilla.gnome.org 2004-02-19 22:40:48 UTC
puh, how to summarize this correctly?

I like the image collection view in Nautilus for browsing images and
checing the exif data.

But I miss the context menu on images that I have in icon-/list-view.
Currently it is not possible to do anything with the images in a collection
except looking at them. I would need at least a possibilit to open a
selected image in gimp or so.

You are right, the functionality besides viewing is quite limited.
:-/. But at least drag and drop works :). It may be that you need
gimp2 for this, since older versions don't handle encoded URIs
correctly. At least this is the way I open pictures for manipulation.

I agree here. Some major points:

1. There should be a pop up menu when right clicking images
2. When rotating, mirroring images the user shouldn't have to "save"
the changes, my opinion is they should be saved instantly. (btw, of
course, these operations should be in the pop up menu as well)

Since the image collection view has been removed from Nautilus, I'm marking this
as obsolete. Please reopen if you disagree.
