Description Benjamin Otte (Company) 2004-02-14 14:37:02 UTC
RPM builds should set the package name and origin to an appropriate value
and overwrite the default.

This is done via the configure switches --with-package-name and
--with-package-origin

why ? I don't see the point.
Comment 2 Benjamin Otte (Company) 2004-02-25 13:07:31 UTC
because It's a good idea to know wether the user uses self-compiled
elements, elements from core fedora RPMs, from rpmfind, our website
or from the Suse repository. They might have bugs that can only be
reproduced with those binary packages.
