I get no text for the translation tab page
in my Gnome::UI::About dialog. I get some
error message when it show also, image on url.

works for me... but here is the error message

WARNING **: Invalid UTF8 string passed to pango_layout_set_text()
and nothing is shown in the "tab title"

I guess that your text is not UTF8. Please reopen if this is not the problem.
The i18n people might be able to give you advice about doing this.
