Current CVS built against alsa fails to find/build filesrc element

(asound and ogg123 work)

You did run gst-register?

What seems to happen is that if I use esd (which in turn uses alsa) it
works. However if I try to use alsa directly it doesn't (RB crashes
completely if I use alsasink)

more info please.  what program fails.  what does gst-inspect alsasink
say. output of gst-feedback.  and so on.
