GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 132476
SFTP: "Authentication Required" Dialog Anomalies
Last modified: 2005-03-05 11:42:14 UTC
Upon creating a *.desktop item for connecting to a remote host via SFTP for which I have already verified the authenticity via the console without having provided the password for Gnome's keyring previously, I have noticed the following abnormalities in the behavior of the dialog box. Stimulus: Suppose I do not put in a password; I simply hit "Cancel." Response: The prompt closes, and the same prompt respawns. Stimulus: "Cancel" the second prompt. Response: It prompts an "Invalid Action Association" dialog box, saying "The action associated with `sftp://XXX@yyy' is invalid. Stimulus: "Cancel" the "Invalid Association" dialog. Response: It prompts a third "Authentication Required" dialog. Stimulus: Close the last "Authentication Required" box. Response: Closes for good.
