Description waldemar 2003-12-31 19:09:47 UTC
It would be nice to abandon this very long ".mrproject" suffix.
Three-letter extensions seem to be a norm. *.pln or *.pnr ???

At least, it should allow explicit file names supplied manually without
forcing the suffix.

Also, the file dialog box should filter the planner files.

pln sounds rather good as opposed to pnr which is too near of png.
Comment 2 Chris Ladd 2004-04-21 18:43:57 UTC
I vote for *.pln

Trouble is PLN is used as a WordPerfect spreadsheet file and so has a good
chance of clashing.

Planner (the single word) is also probaly going to clash from a trademark point
of view (assuming its not actually concidered to be a generic word anyway)
whereas , say the two words "GNOME Planner" is unlikely.

So... using GNOME and Planner we could use...

.gpn is OK (when googling) and also
.gpx (*if* we also would like to look at gzip compresssed files
(which we should especially if we start adding multiple baselines to files)

Comment 4 Lincoln Phipps 2004-04-23 07:10:17 UTC
...gpz NOT gpx as I forgot .gpx is googleable for file extention hits.
Comment 5 Richard Hult 2004-10-01 19:09:59 UTC
Closed, we use .planner now and that's it :)
