If you open the XL file (I will attach) with gnumeric, the XY serie is not
visible in the graph. Its color is set to automatic, and gnumeric is not
able to give it an appropriate color.

There is another strange thing with this file. If you save it as a
.gnumeric file, the graph is lost.

Subtle.  This was broken by the addition of plot style defaults.  You had
created a plot whose default was markers with no lines, then manually adjusted
it to be lines and no markers.  We then erased your selections and applied the
plot default which wiped out the lines.

I can not replicate the problem reloading from .gnumeric.
