Description Michele Castigliego 2003-12-02 01:04:00 UTC
When I drag and drop a file from a local folder to a samba share nautilus
make a copy of it in the share as I expect.
But when I drag a file from a smb share located in my network and drop it
on a local folder nautilus move it, not make a copy...
In RedHat 9.0 this problem is not present.
I call it a problem because I expect a move operation on local folders and
a copy operation on a network-shared folder.
I can prevent this issue by pressing CTRL key during the operation.

Thanks for your bug report.
Are you dragging to the desktop or another local folder?
Comment 2 Michele Castigliego 2003-12-02 01:25:53 UTC
This happens only when I drop files on the desktop
Comment 3 Matthew Gatto 2004-03-04 03:06:08 UTC
Is this a dup of bug 114617? Reopening.
Comment 4 Matthew Gatto 2004-09-04 15:53:34 UTC
Does this still occur for you in gnome-2.6?
Comment 5 Michele Castigliego 2004-09-08 22:01:26 UTC
Current Configuration: Fedora Core 2 with Gnome 2.6

I made a test and Nautilus behaves now as it should.
It makes a copy if I drag the file on the Desktop or I drag it to a local folder
and viceversa.

Thanks for your great work:)
