Description aaron 2003-11-20 20:05:29 UTC
To help people switching from Outlook to Evolution, assemble a list of
equivalent tasks for mail, calendar, and addressbook functionality, for the
Evolution user's guide. Ask yourself this question: "In Outlook, I did
something by clicking here or selecting there. In Evolution, what do I do?"

Comment 4 George Wright 2004-01-19 17:16:13 UTC
I'll take a crack at this

I'm adding what I think are the bare minimum areas that need to be
addressed. Will add more when at work (where I use outlook :( )

If no-one objects, I'll use this BZ to keep track of progess on these,

This is the best place to keep track of that sort of stuff :) Glad to
see people contributing! Keep up the good work.
Comment 6 Christoffer Olsen 2004-06-05 23:00:20 UTC
George, are you still on this?

If not, I'll do some work on this one the next week or so. Probably based on
George's notes, and my own. Aaron, any comments this far? Anything new one
should think about?
Comment 7 dhananjay 2004-10-30 09:13:15 UTC
hey,
is anyone working on this rite now?
i know the basics of docbook...you think this ll be a good place to start?
and is there any format to follow?
thanks
dhananjay

I'd suggest using the <glossary> structure within Docbook. But even plain text
would be fine. Contact Evo docs maintainer mark moulder (mmoulder@novell.com)
for additional info on getting docs accepted.
Comment 9 Siddharth Toshniwal 2005-01-11 06:08:19 UTC
Hi, I've given this one a try. I started some work and will publish the results
of that effort today. It is not yet complete, but maybe BZ is a nice place to
keep track of the effort and take suggestions while I am on it. I thought the
Appendix A (Migration From Outlook to Evolution) was the best place for this
section and so I've created a docbook part with sections that can be inserted there.

I will be working on this over the next little while. I have a good bit done,
but I want to make it look good. Give me a couple of weeks (I'm getting
married! ;) and I'll hopefully be able to commit a rough, yet moderately shiny
version.
Comment 12 Žygimantas Beručka 2005-06-01 17:13:33 UTC
Jeremy, are you still working on this? Seems like many people tried it, but all
got MIA. I'm worried that the same can happen again. :)
Comment 13 Jonathan Rudenberg 2005-12-27 19:40:57 UTC
Is anyone currently working on this?
Comment 14 Kevin Kubasik 2006-06-05 03:39:29 UTC
I would love to pick it up, and could reasonably finish a rough copy in about 2 weeks, is this a still an open bounty/something that we want?

Also (and more importantly) what version of evolution are we comparing to? I can do this for 2.6 far more readily than 2.4, but in the end I could install 2.4 it would just be a bit of a pain to also backwords-learn stuff....
Comment 15 Timon Van Overveldt 2006-10-14 01:30:38 UTC
Me and my friend (Vincent Celis) 'd like to try this one.
Is it still open?

I'll keep you posted.
Comment 16 André Klapper 2012-02-19 16:49:28 UTC
This bounty was available in 2003 and is not available anymore.
Closing as OBSOLETE.
