RFC 2298 describes a standard method for clients to request a "Message
Disposition Notification" (aka "Read Receipt") from the recipient
indicating that they have received the message.

Since no-one seems to have made any progress (???) I am working on

I know this has been said before but I now I will have a go.

I have a simple patch in testing that at least allows the sending of MDN request
headers with outgoing emails.
