Description Bryan W Clark 2003-11-19 19:16:59 UTC
I'm opening this bug as a start to what will hopefully be a set of GNOME
Personas. I've put the bug in this category since as best I could see this
will be a nice enhancement to the HIG.

From my advogato diary
http://www.advogato.org/person/clarkbw/diary.html?start=13

Here's the description of what this bug is meant to be:

This will be the "over persona" bug, I'm hoping this will cover how the
personas interact together. I think it was Havoc who later had a good point
about having all the personas working in a SMB and interacting with each
other. I like this idea, and I'd like to see other ideas like this fleshed
out in this bug. But this bugs main purpose is to decide the way in which
the other personas are made; so we should start here.

Original email by Havoc about GNOME Personas:

In previous attempts at GNOME personas we used an office situation to
provide the proper interaction between a group of people. The three
personas we created were a Manager, Administrative Assistant, and a
Computer Administrator. Through those three people we were able to see a
lot of pieces that are missing which would enable those people to be much
more productive.

A good guidline that Seth gave in an email I have tucked away somewhere was
that each persona should be based off of interviews with real people who
represent our persona. This will help bring in more perspective to the
situations encountered as well as helping to create a much more solid and
real feeling to them. They won't be just some ideas cooked up by the GUP
team.

I'm aware that Bugzilla isn't going to be the best place to host this type
of discussion. I'd be sweet if we had a Wiki of some kind, but I want to
get the ball rolling on this now, so we're making due. Maybe if people are
too fed up with the Bug emails going back and forth someone will setup a
proper Wiki for us to use. However if Bugzilla does work out as a short
term solution I'll be opening up bugs for creation of each persona.

closing, we have a Wiki now. Perhaps stuff should be transfered there.
