I have fixed the original problem but am keeping the report open for a closely related issue: Merge A1 to B3, in D1 type =sum(A1) If you place the text cursor behind the 1 in the last expression, only A1 is being highlighted on teh sheet rather than the complete A1 to B3.
Here is another symptom: Say each A and B pair are merged per row. (a1/b1, a2/b2, ...) Selecting them with the mouse while editing an equation results in "A1:B10" instead of "A1:A10" (Maybe this is fixed by Andreas' patch already.)
Whoa, regards my "2003-12-01 14:17" comment... that's how Excel operates. Just seems weird to me. *shrug*
Time to clear out some old bugs. Patched for 1.9.1.
