GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 127175
K should be kB in gnome_vfs_format_file_size_for_display
Last modified: 2008-09-26 15:16:55 UTC
The correct way to write kilobytes is kB, with a small k (see http://physics.nist.gov/cuu/Units/prefixes.html) (Actually this should be done using KiB and such (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte) but no one would know what that is, I guess) Trivial patch follows
Created attachment 21517 [details] [review] s/K/kB/ on HEAD
Created attachment 21563 [details] [review] Patch for actual division by 1000; otherwise, binary multiples will have to be used.

Any idea what the doc guys recommend to use? The switch to a decimal system or KiB would need to be done GNOME-wide, and to be discussed on desktop-devel first.

See comment from docs guys: http://lists.gnome.org/archives/gnome-doc-list/2003-December/msg00004.html According to the table at http://developer.gnome.org/documents/style-guide/x14800.html we should be using KB, not K. I'm fixing this.
Hmm, it should be kB, not KB. The documentation really needs to be rectified. . . .
