Description lwillis 2003-11-16 20:19:46 UTC
Build of glib fails on mandrake 8.2 with iconv errors. Adding
--with-libiconv=gnu makes things work (It's currently commented out in
gnome/glib/Makefile
Comment 1 Baptiste Mille-Mathias 2003-12-01 16:16:25 UTC
it's the same on gentoo
Comment 2 Matias (Nauta) Vidal 2003-12-02 18:30:07 UTC
Same in HP-UX 11.00
Comment 3 Matt T. Proud 2004-01-10 02:32:43 UTC
I experienced this too on Gentoo 1.4 after installing the iconv from
the bootstrap directory. If I deleted the installation prefix and
restarted the garnome with the bootstrap--without iconv--and then
desktop, glib would build perfectly.

Try installing glib without the iconv package from the bootstrap
directory installed.

This particular case has been noted in the GARNOME FAQ, but it's not really a
GARNOME related bug -- so it's being marked as such.
