Description Sebastien Bacher 2003-11-08 17:26:49 UTC
This bug was originally reported in the Debian BTS:
http://bugs.debian.org/182036

" Metacity always focusses new windows. This is incredibly annoying when
an apps popups a window on a non-user event.

This happens to me in the following cases:

  * Gabber pops up a chat window when i receive a message, so then i'm
suddenly sending them whatever i was typing at that moment

  * Gnomemeeting pops up a connect dialog when someone calls. So when
i'm typing and this happens, i'm suddenly connecting to someone :("

"To reproduce:
  Open two terminals
do sleep 5 ; eog in one
start typing in the other one

When eog starts after five seconds, your focus will shift from the
second terminal to eog."
