Description Egmont Koblinger 2003-11-02 11:53:24 UTC
Locked application launcher icons on the panel cannot be drag and dropped
to create a duplicate of them on the desktop. I have to unlock them to
drag them and drop on the desktop, which creates a copy of them and leaves
the panel icon unchanged. I think this should work without unlocking the
launcher.

This looks like it allows applets to be moved about on the panel with DnD when
the applet is locked.

What the bug is about is allowing *copy* DnDs to the desktop when the applet is
locked, not all DnD

Still present in 2.22, was just about to report it myself... ping?
Comment 7 Calum Benson 2008-04-20 22:46:21 UTC
My (possibly naive) suggestion would be that, like other more conventional drag and drop operations, the validity of the drag ought be checked on the button release event, not on the button down event. This would allow you to check whether the user was trying to move the launcher within the panel, or just copy it to the desktop (or even to another panel).
Comment 8 Vincent Untz 2011-03-29 05:26:10 UTC
I removed the locked flag for 3.0, since it's not really needed anymore.
