Description Malcolm Tredinnick 2003-11-01 13:16:17 UTC
It is unclear if this is a bug or just that everybody needs to build both
gstreamer-0.7 and 0.6 (although it seems that even that will not fix things
since the 0.7 installation will be detected first).

Currently there are a few modules in gst-plugins that call
gst_element_factory_new(), however that function has been removed in 0.7.
Some of the modules calling this function are built unconditionally (e.g.
gstasfdemux), so this problem affects everybody.

Current GNOME 2.5 builds, which require gstreamer HEAD are failing because
of this.

Yes, someone added the new API without changing the plugins
accordingly, so plugins build was broken. Sorry for the mess-up, it's
fixed now. HEAD should build again.
