Description Frederic Parrenin 2003-10-25 20:05:24 UTC
If you change the bounds for an XY graph, (but keep ticks spacing set on
"automatic"), ticks spacings are not re-adapted to the new bounds.
(I can provide a document and a step by step demonstration if my
description is not clear)

I think this bug is fixed in gnumeric CVS. Could you provide us the
step by step demonstration in order to check if it's really fixed ?

OK, here a step by step procedure.

Fill your worksheet with:
0 0
1.2 1
2 0

Select these data and create an XY graph with default settings.
Now, go to the settings of the graph, and change the X axis bounds to
Min=1.1 and Max=1.3.
=> there is only one major tick in the X axis at x=1.1.
If you go another time to the settings of the graph, major tick
spacing is still set to 0.5.

Regards. Fred

The ticks are working smoothly now, but the there is stil lthe
lingering issue of getting the prefs fields to do the right thing.
eg
setting a manual minima changes the auto major tick value, but does
not display it.

ok that works now too.
