GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 124301
Tab completion should use tab to move from URL bar to drop down
Last modified: 2006-04-25 11:37:34 UTC
Tab completion for the URL bar either isn't working yet or isn't working well, IMHO. It appears you have to use the down arrows to select entries from the drop down completion instead of tab. Any reason for this? Mozilla seems far more comfortable for me in this respect, as you can just hit tab and go down the list that's dropped down, and ESC to cancel the completion and go back to the URL bar. This might be something to do with being right handed and not wanting to move my right hand from the mouse to the arrow keys, or moving my left hand over from it's home position.
notabug...Tab completion will not be supported because it breaks a11y keynav.
Hi, I think this is one of the most annoying and critical issues in epiphany, and I have read others having similar sentiments. This is practically a blocker UI issue for me, as the tab-selection or tab completion is a well-known UI feature across platforms and browsers. Just my $0.02. I hope that I can at least find out how to configure this feature for myself (faint hope maybe for something in prefs.js or something). Thanks, ChrisJ
Chris, I think it would be better to discuss this on gtk development mailing list. I could reassign this bug to them but ... I think in this case mailing list is just better, because accessibility people will see it.
