Description Alexander Kirillov 2003-09-17 14:19:14 UTC
Here is a bug in Gnumeric 1.20 (pacakges from www.gnome.org/~jody):

1. Select a range of vlaues in table; click "graph" button, select "column"
type (probably the same with other graph types - didn't check)

2. In step 2 (Customize chart), select Series 1->Data and enter some labels
(by selecting another range of cells in the same table). The preview shows
selected lables as expected

3. Click OK and place the graph in the workbook.

BUG: instead of selected labels you see labels 1,2,...

However, right-click on the graph->properties and click OK wihtout making
any changes. Now the graph changes: it uses the selected labels.

I confirm this problem is also in Gnumeric 1.2.0. Instead labels taken
from cells it shows 1, 2, 3...
Comment 2 Arkadiusz Lipiec 2003-09-29 15:49:17 UTC
This bug was previously submited as number 70717
Comment 3 Alexander Kirillov 2003-09-29 15:53:38 UTC
I do not think this is the same as bug 70717: there problem was
whether data should be shown in date format or raw; here the data is
not used at all. (Not to mention that in 1.2.0 the graphing engine has
been rewritten from scratch...)
Comment 4 Jody Goldberg 2003-10-09 20:36:36 UTC
Damn, I forgot about this report.

This still seems to happen in 1.2.1
I'll add it to the release critical list and see what's going on
before 1.2.2
Comment 5 Jody Goldberg 2003-10-14 04:06:21 UTC
We were only triggering an update when the number of points changed, not when
the labels changed. So the axis was not notified of the new labels.
