Description Fabio Saito dos Santos 2003-09-13 15:17:18 UTC
When I installed the Gimp 1.3 fine, but when first running it, the setup
screen was cut off at the bottom of the screen. I could not use any means
to move the screen to acess the NEXT buttons at the bottom of the screen,
nor could I make the window any smaller.

My monitor resolution is at 1024x768, and my monitor is 15" Monitor.

Great job guys, The new gimp look works great and works incredably smoothly
and FAST!!!). I hope you release a stable version soon!
Comment 1 Sven Neumann 2003-09-13 15:31:10 UTC
The screen is supposed to fit on 800x600 and last time I checked it did.
Comment 2 Simon Budig 2003-09-13 18:50:33 UTC
Could you please move away ~/.gimp-1.3 temporarily and create a
screenshot of the user installation dialog?

We might be able to guess the problem from that.

Please tell us some more things: What locale do you use (Output of
the "locale"-command)?

And what is that message in the terminal where you probably started
the Gimp (behind the installation dialog)?
Comment 5 Fabio Saito dos Santos 2003-09-14 00:59:31 UTC
Hi,

The message I get (underneath the Gimp screenshot reads in portuguese:

"Gimp-Config-Message: Falha na abertura do arquivo:
'/home/rsff/.gimp-1.3/gimprc': Arquivo ou diretório não encontrado"

Which translates roughly to:

"Gimp-Config-Message: Failed to open file:
'/home/rsff/.gimp-1.3/gimprc': File or directory not found."

My locale:

bash-2.05a$ locale
LANG=pt_BR

LC_TIME="pt_BR"
LC_COLLATE="pt_BR"

We've lately added a couple of directories to the ~/.gimprc directory.
These show up in the user installation dialog and extend it
vertically. Looks we will have to revisit the user installation before
2.0.
Comment 8 Dave Neary 2003-10-21 11:54:34 UTC
Changing milestone to 2.0 - this will not need to be addressed before
pre-releases.

Dave.
Comment 9 David Odin 2003-12-22 19:49:07 UTC
I've added a scrolled window in the offending page. I think this bug
should be closed now.

Comment 10 Dave Neary 2003-12-23 08:54:03 UTC
Agreed.
