sorry for that, but this patch work better imho, I also remove "gtk_toggle_button_set_inconsistent" as I couldn't find reason of use that in this capplet. (4.23 KB, patch)

Description Marcin Krzyzanowski 2003-09-10 22:01:06 UTC
Trying to set some other web browser than listed, after close window, and
open again setting back to default. I couldn't find out how to set it up.

It seems broken in 2.4.0, because in 2.3.x worked fine.

Reassigning preferred applications bugs into the component that, for some
reason, didn't exist until now. Filter for "Andrew doing reassignment work" to
get rid of this e-mail spam.

Marcin,

Would this bug cause you to have neither choice (neither the predefined "Select
a web browser" choices nor the custom web browser radio button) selected in the
Web Browser tab of the Preferred Applications window?
Comment 5 Marcin Krzyzanowski 2004-04-16 12:18:34 UTC
AFAIR i cause to have no selection, but since version 2.4, and now 2.6 I apply
patch I attached here and do not report any problems.

Please please please let's look at this patch now?
Comment 9 Sebastien Bacher 2004-10-16 23:26:17 UTC
seems to work fine with 2.8, I'm closing it. Feel free to reopen if it happens
again.

Sebastien, I am not able to see this problem but facing a different problem.

Steps:

- Change the default browser to another application e.g. firefox, epiphany etc.

- In the nautilus browser window, click on an html file, i expected it open in
the new default browser set, but it still opened with the previous browser (mozilla)

Can you please confirm this behaviour on your setup ?
Comment 11 Kjartan Maraas 2005-01-25 10:47:33 UTC
It works as expected here. Opening a .html file in nautilus or clicking on a
link in Evolution gave me the new browser every time. I went from
firefox->epiphany->mozilla->firefox without problems. This is on Fedora Core 3,
which has GNOME 2.8.x.
