GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 121338
The default clock applet is to small
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
After uppgrading garnome, my clock applet is to small so that it don't show the full time (the minute digit is cut in half). If I add a new clock it uses the correct size. I poked around in the settings and in the gconf tree but couldnt find what to change. I'm keeping the applet as a pet if you need more info :-)
Update: When I added a new clock it only showed the time (not date) and when changing to show date, it keept its size, making it unusable. Generaly it seems that changing the width of the content dosen't change the width of the applet.
Something is definitely wrong. If date is not shown, and you choose to see seconds, the seconds are displayed properly. Leaving seconds on while turning on date display, removes the display of seconds; presumably because the seconds don't fit in the applet width. With date turned on, some digits of the minute display are only displayed partially, again presumably because of a fixed, too small, applet width. This is rather bad, there is no way the clock applet can show both date and seconds at the same time.

I've tried to reproduce it, but with no exit. :(
Have you tried to place it elsewhere?
Yes, moving it to a completely free space on the panel makes no difference. The width of the applet stays the same. It's 2.3.7 btw if that makes any difference.
If you click on the applet to show the calendar, does it resize ? If so, this is a duplicate of bug 120739. This is fixed in 2.3.90.
It does get somewhat wider when I click on it. Looks like it is the same.
