Person who requested the backport says it works. I recommend committing.
Hey, who requested the patch ? Do you have a gst launch line that fails in valgrind, all the ones I use work without this patch. Would like a testcase I can verify the patch again.
On my Pentium 4 1.8 GHz, I get the following error running "valgrind gst-launch fakesrc ! fakesink". I'm using 0.6.2. With the patch, I don't have this problem (even if I don't pass --gst-disable-cpu-opt to gst-launch). My version of valgrind is valgrind-20030725. INFO (18390: 0) Initializing GStreamer Core Library version 0.6.2 INFO (18390: 0) CPU features: (00000000) MMX SSE disInstr: unhandled instruction bytes: 0xF0 0xF 0xC7 0xE
There's no reason to postpone this. We've been testing it in HEAD for months.
Patch applies cleanly on 0.6 for me and compilation continues to work. Thomas I think this one is ready to be commited.
commited to 0.6.3.1, closed.
