Person who requested the backport says it works. I recommend committing.
Comment 3 Thomas Vander Stichele 2003-08-21 09:17:38 UTC
Hey,

who requested the patch ? Do you have a gst launch line that fails in
valgrind, all the ones I use work without this patch. Would like a
testcase I can verify the patch again.
Comment 4 Sebastien Cote 2003-08-21 13:13:02 UTC
On my Pentium 4 1.8 GHz, I get the following error running "valgrind
gst-launch fakesrc ! fakesink". I'm using 0.6.2. With the patch, I
don't have this problem (even if I don't pass --gst-disable-cpu-opt to
gst-launch). My version of valgrind is valgrind-20030725.

There's no reason to postpone this. We've been testing it in HEAD for
months.
Comment 6 Christian Fredrik Kalager Schaller 2003-09-27 15:08:47 UTC
Patch applies cleanly on 0.6 for me and compilation continues to work.
Thomas I think this one is ready to be commited.
Comment 7 Thomas Vander Stichele 2003-09-28 14:40:10 UTC
commited to 0.6.3.1, closed.
