Description Søren Boll Overgaard 2003-08-03 07:26:38 UTC
A Debian user submitted the following wishlist bug to the Debian Bug
Tracking system. The complete bug is available at
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=197811:

Package: pan
Version: 0.14.0-3
Severity: wishlist

The shortened group names could be extended a bit. For example, I happen
to read the groups comp.lang.c++.moderated and comp.lang.c.moderated.
Both are displayed as c.l.c.moderated in "B" mode.

I realize that abbreviated group names can't be unique in all cases, but
"moderated" is a pretty common suffix. Maybe pan should introduce a
special rule which displays the part before the ".moderated". I.e. for
the above example:

c.l.c++.m
c.l.c.m

Or, similarly:

c.l.perl.m
