GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 118974
Gets QP subjects wrong
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
A Debian user submitted the bug below against pan. The entire bug can be viewed at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=203764 : Package: pan Version: 0.14.0-3 Severity: normal First, let me admit I haven't looked at any "news" RFCs, but just assume the same RFCs as for mail apply. On some headers using Quoted Printable, pan incorrectly identifies the header as malformatted and prints it verbatim. Example: Re: =?ISO-8859-1?Q?Arbeiten_f=FCr_den_Standard...?= This comes out exactly like it looks here. The underscores are representations of 0x20, and that's the space in ISO-8859-1 (and most other encodings). Not pan handles header without underscore correctly: Re: Arbeiten =?iso-8859-1?Q?f=FCr?= den Standard... becomes: Re: Arbeiten für den Standard... -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux kosh 2.4.21-2-k7 #1 Sat Jul 5 03:47:02 EST 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 Versions of packages pan depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 1.2.4-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.3.1-17 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libglib1.2 1.2.10-9 The GLib library of C routines ii libglib2.0-0 2.2.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnet1.1 1.1.9-4 GNet network library ii libgtk2.0-0 2.2.2-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libgtkspell0 2.0.4-6 a spell-checking addon for GTK's T ii libpango1.0-0 1.2.3-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpango1.0-common 1.2.3-1 Modules and configuration files fo ii libxml2 2.5.7-1 GNOME XML library ii zlib1g 1:1.1.4-14 compression library - runtime
This is fixable by sync'ing Pan with a new version of GMime, which I plan to do for 0.14.2. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 116269 ***
