Patch against HEAD. Dropped usage of GConfChangeSet, direct access through GConfClient

My only concern here is with the 'other' servers... Do the server and
port number need to change at the same time? Is it possible to sample
the GConf DB at the wrong time and get half the entry? Should these
then be changed with a sub dialog?

Perhaps next to the 'Other' there should be the listing with a
'change' button that pops up a dialog where the server and port can be
set at once?

After discussion on the usbility list it has been decided that instand
apply is better than having an unstable GConf DB in certian instances
(rare instances they are).

I've applied this to HEAD.
