GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 115158
RedHat 9: gstreamer-universe doesn't exist
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Running RedHat9. The install page says to use apt-get to install 'gstreamer-universe', but that package does not exist: # apt-get install gstreamer-universe Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done E: Couldn't find package gstreamer-universe
Update, June 27th. gstreamer-universe still doesn't exist.
Figured I'd give the new 0.6.3 a try, but install-universe still fails. Perhaps someone should remove the instructions from the http://gstreamer.net/releases/redhat/ page? The install instructions ( http://www.gstreamer.net/download/ and http://gstreamer.net/releases/redhat/ ) are either wrong, or the required files are not available in the download directory ( ). % apt-get update Ign http://gstreamer.net redhat-9-i386 release Hit http://gstreamer.net redhat-9-i386/deps srclist Hit http://gstreamer.net redhat-9-i386/redhat srclist Hit http://gstreamer.net redhat-9-i386/deps pkglist Ign http://gstreamer.net redhat-9-i386/deps release Hit http://gstreamer.net redhat-9-i386/redhat pkglist Ign http://gstreamer.net redhat-9-i386/redhat release Reading Package Lists... Tried again with 0.6.4 . gstreamer-universe still doesn't exist. Is gstreamer universe not part of the RH9 package or something?
We don't have binary packages anymore, and I can't find anywhere in the web site that says that we do. If you find such a place, could you reopen this bug? Thanks.
well, they're up again, if you're still looking for them. Seem to work too.
