Description Dennis Cranston 2003-06-11 21:08:29 UTC
I ran into a problem where I could not open the trash on my desktop,
because nautilus would attempt to display the trash contents with the media
viewer. To solve this problem, the user needs to delete a file from either
the .nautilus/metafiles or /usr/lib/bonobo/servers directory. Instead,
nautilus should fallback to a well-known view such as 'View as Icons'.

Some of the email exchange regarding this missing feature...

I believe this may be fixed in nautilus 2.5.90+?

From the 2.5.90 release NEWS...

  This is nautilus 2.5.90, the file manager for the Gnome 2 desktop.

  Major changes since 2.5.8 are:
  <snip>
  * Fallback to normal icon view if there is a problem launching
  another view

bug fixed according to the comment, I'm closing it.
