Description bill.haneman 2003-06-11 21:07:08 UTC
A spell button would be interesting;
alternatively (no button needed), if the word-completion panel were shown
on the EditableText keyboard, it could 'spell' the word at the current
cursor location, i.e. if the word isn't in the word completion dictionary
it could list the closest matches it finds.

We could also add an "add to dictionary" key on that completion row, which
would add the word at the current cursor location.

Not hard to do, and very cool :-)

Bill, I was discussing an add to dictionary key with Chris earlier
today! We think it is a good idea. If you assign yourself this one,
you won't be stepping on my toes.

The spelling idea is indeed very cool. :-)

this'll have to wait for GNOME 2.6 I guess, so downgrading for the moment.

Apologies for spam... marking as GNOMEVER2.3 so it appears on the official GNOME

gok (GNOME on-screen keyboard) development has been stalled and it has been replaced by caribou [1]. Maintainers don't have future development plan so i am closing all the bugs as WONTFIX.
