Description Mark Finlay 2003-05-09 18:14:16 UTC
It should be easier to add bookmarks to the bookmark toolbar
without dnd.

eg.
* Add an item to the context menu of bookmarks in the editor
* Add an option to add to toolbar when creating a bookmark

Of course this could be problematic it there is more than one
bookmark toolbar.

I agree with 1, I think 2 is too much, it's an advanced user feature ihmo.
Comment 2 Dave Bordoley [Not Reading Bug Mail] 2003-05-10 05:22:57 UTC
I actually disagree with both:
1. The main way to add bookmarks/topics to the bookmarks bar should be through
dnd imo, its more natural and is a very directly manipulative way. We do need
docs on this and I believe i already wrote them and they are in cvs.

2. I want to keep the new bookmarks dialog simple. Creating topics should be
done in the editor not in the new dialog, and adding bookmarks to the bookmarks
bar should be done from the editor not here.

some other reasoning:

Most users are not going to often add/remove items from the bookmarks bar, in
fact i predict that most users will set it up how they want it and never change it
again. Hence there shouldn't be an over abbundance of ui for this.

Also the file menu bookmarks bar toggle is really there for a11y friendlyness and is
not meant to be used as the standard way of adding/removing items from the bar. I
think adding this to the context menu is really just adding more bloat and noise to
it imo.

So I guess this is a WONTFIX. Sorry :/
