GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 112494
No localized mixer labels in gmix
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Tested with gmix 2.2.1.1 as shipped with Red Hat 9, and using sv_SE.UTF-8 as the locale. The mixer labels aren't localized, although the Swedish translation was complete and still is. See attached screenshot.
Created attachment 16330 [details] Screenshot showing the untranslated mixer labels
In addition, entering the settings and clicking "Reset labels to their defaults" seems to have no effect. The result is still untranslated.
I think you've filed this before christian. I'll look for the dupe later.
Removing myself from Cc: since I monitor this module anyway.
He filed it in 2001 :/

Thanks for catching the dupe. I had forgotten about it.
Created attachment 18944 [details] [review] Patch to change the label to the label and not the name
Okay, I think that this patch will fix the problem. Basically it came down to using the name and not the label. The lables should be already translated, so, if someone could test this, I think it will work right out of the box (ie no translation required). I think if that is the case it might still be a cantidate for 2.4?
Certainly -- if the translations are already there it doesn't break the freeze.
E-mailed to release team, they don't see this as a freeze issue - so it has been checked into HEAD. Happy localized mixing! :)
Thanks a lot!
