GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 111636
opening files without filetype-extension
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Currently file-roller won't open a bzip2-file if it doesn't have a ".bzip2"-suffix. Background of this problem is the fact, that balsa for example saves tempfiles for viewing without any extension, and so you cant open attached bzip2-files (and probably other archive-types as well) directly with file-roller. Any will or plans to implement auto-detection in any way? Or should this one better be addressed by balsa?
according to the gzip2 man page bzip2 files must have the bz2 extension.
