I have a few .wav files with MS ADPCM compression. These files played with
esdplay much faster then they should. Xine, mplayer windows based players
play them fine. The smallest such file is about 3.5Mb, so I'm not attaching
it to this bug right now.

Could you post a link to one?
Comment 2 Pavel R 2003-06-10 16:26:35 UTC
Hmm.. I don't have a place where I could put it and make publicly
accessible. I could send it to you by email, if you wish.

You can attach a broken file here.. It would be the easiest way to
check the problem.. Use the "Create a new attachment" link..

Comment 5 Frederic Crozat 2004-03-01 19:54:32 UTC
Hmmm, we are not using libaudiofile capability to automagically
uncompress ADPCM files as it is read. And I have no idea on how to get
it to work properly :(
Comment 6 David Schleef 2005-05-25 22:47:21 UTC
audiofile doesn't decode ADPCM correctly. I took the heavy-handed approach and
returned an error for any compressed audio, which may upset some Sun people who
are very attached to .au files.
