Description maxx 2003-02-18 08:42:03 UTC
Extremely slow startup - can take minutes to get from login to fully
loaded gnome (this is on an amd k6 300mhz with 96mb ram).

Could this be related to fonconfig, etc.?
Comment 1 Jens Bech Madsen 2003-07-15 10:08:21 UTC
Still seeing this? I have no problems with login time. Is the CPU
overloaded or is it waiting for IO?

First time you log in it will generate a font cache in your home
directory (at least used to, can't test now) which takes a little
time. Should only happen on first login, though.
Comment 2 Jeff Waugh 2003-07-15 10:18:09 UTC
This was probably fixed through a combination of recent fontconfig and
libbonobo fixes. Happy for you to close this one. :-) Thanks Jens!
