Garnome first use breaks gnome-terminal in regular RH Gnome 2.0
Last modified: 2009-08-15 18:40:50 UTC
Garnome first use breaks gnome-terminal in regular RH Gnome 2.0. After using the failsafe login to get into the Garnome version of Gnome, I logged back into the default RH 8.0 Gnome session and now cannot open a gnome-terminal session. I get a font error message, and I'm not terribly knowledgeable about Linux Fonts, so I hope this error message helps. This is the error message: ** (gnome-terminal:1160): WARNING **: Failed to load Xft font pattern ".fulldir-10:slant=0:weight=100:pixelsize=13.3333:antialias=False:hintstyle=3:hinting=True:verticallayout=False:autohint=False:globaladvance=True:dpi=96:rgba=0:scale=1:lang=en-US", falling back to default font. ** (gnome-terminal:1160): WARNING **: Failed to load default Xft font.
Does the same under Debian sid with garnome 0.21.0
Did you install garnome in your home directory? I don't see how the 2 prefixes could interfere with each other.
Does this still happen in GARNOME 2.8.0? It sounds like GARNOME has been installed in, or is referencing libraries in a system directory, but I can't seem to reproduce the bug with a Red Hat box of that vintage, so more information (or a retest) is required.
No feedback in ages. Closing.
