I figured this would be a dup, but I don't see any like it with the dup finder. It happens all the time to me and I don't think my system is very unique, odd. sometimes it happens when nautilus is reloading after a crash. It seems to happen everytime I open a folder with mp3's in it. some folders it never happens. like if I go between 'Trash' and 'Desktop', I'll never get a crash. some folders it happens all the time. I have a folder with just .mpg's in that didn't seem to cause a crash, I made a new folder 'untitled' in there and now it crashes every time.
ok, might just be a debian issue, but I'll post this anyway. In GDB I get lots of "FAMOpen failed, FAMErrno=0" then: GnomeCanvas-ERROR **: file gnome-canvas.c: line 3675 (gnome_canvas_request_redraw_uta): assertion failed: (canvas->idle_id != 0) aborting... Program received signal SIGABRT, Aborted.

I hope this is useful to someone.
same at my machine - after upgrading the libgtk in unstable - note: i got _no_ gtk2.2 yet. also happens on "old" folders. seems to be a debian problem with the new gtk-libs obviously something regarding the icons.

1. Make sure you're on the latest libgnomeui2. 2. Make sure your libgtk-common and libgtk2.0-common are 2.2 as well. 3. Let everyone know which works, if any.
Actually for (2), libpango-common and libpango1.0-common also need to be 1.2.

"Well just to get word out. If you downgrade libgnomecanvas to libgnomecanvas2-0_2.0.5-2_i386 things work smoothly again. -- Sean Harshbarger" I've tried this and it solves my problems.

> how do i fix it in simple language? By upgrading to a newer Nautilus version, preferably 2.12 or later.
