Comment 1 Steve Fox 2002-12-18 06:34:24 UTC
(Gar! I accidentally hit enter before posting the report.)

I have gdict_applet in my panel which gets launched upon GNOME start up.

Every time I start GNOME I see the GNOME Dictionary search interface
get launched looking for something like "/gnome-dictionary-Bky7e9/"
which I'm assuming has something to do with session management.

Make it go away, please :)
Comment 2 George Lebl 2003-01-13 07:24:51 UTC
I just fixed this in CVS. gnome-dictionary was doing evil things with
the command line
Comment 3 Steve Fox 2003-01-27 18:46:57 UTC
I've got gnome-utils-2.2.0.3 installed now, and I'm still having
issues with this. GNOME Dictionary still opens up a window when I
start GNOME. It no longer looks up the weird string, but having to
close the window is annoying.

Thanks.

Comment 6 Dennis Cranston 2003-06-08 18:16:05 UTC
I tested with gnome-utils 2.3.3, gnome-panel 2.3.3 and gnome-session
2.3.3. I cannot reproduce this bug. I added the dictionary applet to
a panel and saved my session. The dictionary window does not open
when I log in, and gnome-dictionary is not added to my session. Can
others please confirm?
Comment 7 Steve Fox 2003-06-13 20:31:30 UTC
I'm still hitting this with same releases still:

[drfickle@tp hack]$ rpm -q gnome-utils gnome-panel gnome-session
gnome-utils-2.3.3-1mdk
gnome-panel-2.3.3.1-1mdk
gnome-session-2.3.3-1mdk

Here's the session start up information. I wonder if this "old" data
is different to how it's storing it when you newly add the applet.

Debian sid
gnome-utils 2.2.1-1
gnome-panel 2.2.2-1
gnome-session 2.2.2-2

The problem starts happening here after adding a gdict applet (and of
course logout/login), and disappears after removing the applet.

Comment 9 Kjartan Maraas 2004-04-18 13:38:04 UTC
Can anyone reproduce this using 2.4.x or 2.6.x?
Comment 10 Steve Fox 2004-04-19 03:07:30 UTC
I am using 2.4.x now and it does not happen. Thank you.
