Description Chris Ingram 2002-12-05 14:31:52 UTC
When entering a new transaction for an account, type an ampersand character
("&") in the middle of the text (e.g. "Dinner & dessert"). Save the file
and exit GnuCash. Load GnuCash and open the same account, notice that the
notes for the transaction only contain the text up to the ampersand
("Dinner ").

All text after the ampersand is lost! Inspecting the data file shows that
the text is missing there also (i.e. the text after the "&" was not saved
to the data file).
Comment 1 Chris Ingram 2002-12-05 14:36:57 UTC
The first sentence should have included the phrase "notes field" as
follows:

When entering a new transaction for an account, type an ampersand
character ("&") in the middle of the text in the notes field (e.g.
"Dinner & dessert").
Comment 2 David Hampton 2002-12-24 03:22:43 UTC
This problem does not appear to exist in the 1.7.x beta releases. I
checked the Description, Notes, and Memo fields for a transaction.

I am closing this bug as the 1.8 general release should occur in two
weeks and we are not planning any new releases of 1.6.
