GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 796187
Odd behavior of the selector tool (Feather edges).
Last modified: 2018-05-24 20:07:13 UTC
1: When activating "Feather borders", copying and pasting new layer does not work. 2: When changing the radius of "Feather edges", the dotted line is not updated. When the rectangle is moved, the dotted line is updated. 3: When a simple click is made, it is deselected. (This makes no sense). When you give it a simple click again, the manipulator rectangle becomes huge. 4: When there are several rectangles and then "Feather edges" is activated, there is no way to activate "Feather edges". These might be different issues, some probably the same as either bug 796071 or bug 796073 or bug 796075. Handling four issues in one bug could be problematic, if necessary we'll have to split this one. And please do not rely on videos that much, try to describe each issue in easy-to-follow steps.
They are not the same mistakes. On the page of bugs they say try to give as much information as possible. I enclose the video to help understanding. But I do not understand. If those errors are already reported. How do they get a stable version with so many errors?
As you see form the other bug reports and especially the reddit thread linked from there, it took some effort to reproduce the issue - for example, I never click outside of an existing selection to cancel it, so I myself would likely never have found that one. Videos are great for showing what happens, but not really for what someone is doing, and especially not for why they are doing something. Think of the description I asked for as if it was the script for the movie you are making.
Ok. Do you want me to separate these bugs?
