Bug information by GIMP

GIMP crashes with a memory access error when I try to drag and drop a specific layer. It happened with other layers too but with one it was even reproducable. Each time I try to relocate this layer by dragging it, GIMP crashes. As you can see in the attachment, I use the latest GIMP git version.
Comment 1 uta 2018-05-05 11:27:02 UTC
My version of the gnome shell is 3.28.1-1. I cannot select this version from the GNOME version choice box.
Comment 2 uta 2018-05-05 11:35:25 UTC
update: Although I initially was able to relocate layers by drag and drop, it now longer is possible with any kind of layer. It just crashes immediately with the same error.
Comment 3 uta 2018-05-05 12:04:52 UTC
another update: this bug only occurs when I start it with wayland. Under x11 there's no crash when dragging layers around.
Comment 4 Michael Schumacher 2018-05-05 12:46:54 UTC
Does this also happen with the GIMP 2.10.0 release?
Comment 5 uta 2018-05-05 16:29:09 UTC
I'm using the GTK3 development branch. GIMP runs natively on wayland there. If I start GIMP with
   GDK_BACKEND=x11 gimp-2.99      the problem doesn't occur.
Comment 6 Michael Natterer 2018-05-05 17:43:46 UTC
Nor does the problem occur with the windows or macos backends.

What branch is that exactly? GTK+ master?
Comment 7 uta 2018-05-06 08:55:30 UTC
It's the GTK3 port
