Description random237849 2018-02-18 18:03:44 UTC
currently when annotating a pdf document, annotations to the document must be saved with a "save as" dialog. a "save" option would be more intuitive.

in the annotations toolbar in addition to the "add highlight annotation" and "add text annotation" it would be great to have a "save document" button.

also (not specific to annotation mode), the "ctrl-s" shortcut opens a "save as" dialog instead of saving/overwriting the document quietly. if this is intended bahviour, then maybe a "save" button in the annotations toolbar could be considered.

The document saved might differ from the original document (other than the annotations themselves). So, it could lead to some loss in the document. In many cases, it works fine, but we cannot guarantee that would work always.

"Save as" and calling the dialog as soon as possible let us be sure the user wants to take that action, and not by mistake.
