GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 792995
Have a way to configure VPN per wlan network configuration
Last modified: 2021-06-10 06:28:59 UTC
I have the situation that I connect to multiple networks. For some public networks I would like that network manager directly created a VPN connection after it connects to the WLAN. The "old" user interface nm-connection-editor has a option for this: "select a network"->settings->general->"automatically connect to VPN when using this connection". But I can't find a similar option if I use the network configuration of the network-manager from Gnome Shell 3.26. It would be great if this feature would be also available in the default configuration dialog.
gnome-control-center is a different GUI than nm-connection-editor. Reassigning.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new enhancement request ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-control-center/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
