GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 792485
btrfs check (btrfsck) does not repair
Last modified: 2020-11-13 10:40:51 UTC
When checking a btrfs partition, GParted states that it will "check and repair file system (btrfs)" and "check file system for errors and (if possible) fix them". It misleads the user about thinking it will *repair* the filesystem, whereas the command *btrfs /dev/sdxn* simply check a filesystem without repairing it. As a side note, *btrfsck* is an alias of the *btrfs check* command and is now deprecated. Steps to reproduce: - check an existing btrfs partition (create one if necessary) For more info: https://btrfs.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Manpage/btrfs-check Thank you for this awesome tool!
