Description Stephen 2017-12-12 22:29:32 UTC
Per https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/issues/155, it seems the mechanism of hiding current-directory files listed in a file called ".hidden" only works for local files, not locations with GVfs backends.

For consistency ".hidden" files should be read and the GIO hidden attribute be set for GVfs locations as well.

To be clear, this is not arbitrary "dot" files, it's a file named ".hidden" with a list of other files in the same dir to hide.
