GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 790827
Keybinding override popup should have an option to remember the choice
Last modified: 2021-07-05 14:04:58 UTC
See https://bugs.launchpad.net/homebank/+bug/1734210 Screenshot: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/346878551/keybindingPermission.png Some applications seem to override some keybindings. In recent GNOME versions, you seem to ask for permission from the user. There is no "Always allow this application" or similar checkbox, which would prevent it to be shown every time when an application does so.
See also Bug 790828 for related issues.
The problem with "Remember this"-style options is that they need a non-obscure way for users to revoke their decision.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
